The premise was a really cool one. I thought it would be fun to gather all of the stickists I could in one musical gathering and add a couple of simple guidelines. Everyone who participated was really easy to work with, and graciously allowed me to produce their works. I participated in playing as well as arranging, engineering and producing. It was a lot of fun, and I am very proud of the result.

Lots of people from all over the world with varying skill levels, experience, equipment  and tastes. Again, I am super proud of the result, everybody's ideas here are amazing and it worked out so well - not just once, but twice. Cool.

I would have done it again this year, but I could not get any interest last year, ahh well what do you do - people are busy! Anyways, take a listen, post your thoughts on the topic - I would love to see more things like this created... (hint hint perhaps a tappistry collaboration?)

*the top piece is absolutely amazing....a lot of real good energy and sounds to match, so how did this work ??

 - did everyone involved have an idea as to what the end result would be OR is this the result of a ton of edits ??

Bottom piece is nice... in that there's a ton of different dynamics happening [at times simutaniously... !!] and this has my curiosity now.....

I'm real curious as to how this came about, how it was assembled, because what you are saying is beautiful - how this is the result of many different players, at all different skill levels, kind of like the original guitar craft - where the only requirement was a commitment to play.

(hint hint perhaps a tappistry collaboration?)

I would definately be curious as to how that would work.

Sounds great to me !!

heh Cool, thanks for checking it out - here's how it went down both times;

1) I announced I was going to do it, and asked anyone who was interested to participate

2) The rules were simple, 8-16 measures of music at a specific tempo, and within a key signature.

3) The guys emailed their parts (clean and unprocessed) to me and I assembled them in my DAW (Logic ProX) supplying all of the connective tissue, drums and some other stuff...

Not a lot of editing, literally like creating a mash-up from drag and drop loops. It was fun, and to my knowledge there's nothing else out there like it. I'd love to do it again, and see more things like this come about. Give it time, right? hehe Build it and they will come...

I'm impressed, too.  It sounds surprisingly good given how it was constructed.

I agree, it's pretty wild how this is an assembled piece of music.....

Hey! Thanks for checking it out! I thought it was cool too, but honestly - both times I did it, it was not really that well received. Folks just weren't that interested it seemed.

My vision was to have a big musical free for all, have as many people involved as possible, and turn the submitted ideas around so that even the people who created them would be surprised a bit by what happened and simultaneously create something that had some musical meaning on an instrument/approach that doesn't get much press...
