https://markusreuter.bandcamp.com/track/number-of-the-mind Using an instrument from his own company https://www.touchguitars.com/ He uses an 8 string tuned in mostly 5ths plus a minor 3rd and 2nd on top, low to high Bb F C G D A C D. This is the extended 'New Standard Tuning' developed by Robert Fripp and Guitar Craft.

Oh very cool! Now is he the guy who plays in Stick Men with Tony Levin? The touch guitar looks pretty cool (I am a guitarist predominantly so I am a sucker for anything remotely guitar-y) Checking out his tunes now...

Yes, I believe he replaced one member in Stickmen but I am not certain if he is still involved today.
This link is so beautiful... and exactly the direction which I am goin in, and why I justify keeping my TT M.Megatar Toneweaver tuned in 3rds... because this is what I am pursuing as far as that instrument is concerned.
Absolutely beautiful music.. thank you so much ixlramp for posting this, as it gives me great hope.......

Good to know, i posted that partly because i know you like ambient music and Brian Eno. Yes he is/was in Stickmen and i think he was a 'crafty guitarist' student of Robert Fripp in the past..

Here's the Touch Guitars U10, their more recent stereo instrument, both sides tuned in fifths (low to high) bass BbFCGD melody CGDAC (5 string variant of Fripp's New Standard Tuning, minor 3rd on top). A short low quality clip of a piece of music by the League of Crafty Guitarists, but the polymetric playing is amazing:
And the original:

This type of playing is truly fascinating... it almost as if the musician/musicians have transcended to a higher place than we could ever hope to achieve. Incredible the level of playing here, along with the composition itself... Thanks for posting both of these videos !!

The playing is neat, I mean I don't totally love it but I don't hate it either which means it could grow on me.... The instrument is intriguing, though that's for sure! Both sides are tuned in 5ths? And they are stereo instruments?

That's a good question if there's stereo outputs on that instrument shown.
I know I'm in the minority - but I'd like to see mono switches on the stereo instruments because - well, it can make life a whole lot simpler if one is traveling light.
