I can totally dig that... totally.

I know this cat ixlramp is totally on board with that too.

We were both quite saddened that this forum went down, as I anyway felt it was really the only open forum out there regarding tapping style instruments of any persuasion, meaning no discrimination against those with different instruments or ideas πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

That's Freedom Baby !!

Seeing this forum back up and running has totally made my day.

As long as this forum is up, I'm not going anywhere else.

No reason to.....

None !!

Well, there will be more than a couple of things going on here - I was initially going to just build myself another webpage, with tutorial material, transcriptions, music, videos, etc but I thought that it would be way more fun to build a community and get some interactions going. Music collaborations, building, whatever. I do a lot more than just play the Stick, so I'd like to have an outlet that can suit my interests...

I am going to be slowly modifying the structure of the forum and adding/removing things as I go to further define this site. I want to clarify - this is NOT a "stickist.com for non-stickists", but rather a forum that is inclusive of musicians who happen to tap regardless of your instrument of choice. So yes, absolutely NO discrimination against different instruments or ideas.

Tapping is a really neat articulation that crops up all over the place on all kinds of stringed instruments (Guitar, bass, Harpeggi, iPad, The Chapman Stick, Dragonfly, Warr, Krappy, Touch Guitar etc etc) And there are a bunch of different schools of thought - we can discuss it all...
I am a member of Stickist.com, but I have some ideas I'd like to share and pursue that folks there aren't really interested in from what I can see. Ideas and music will flourish here...
We will try to keep the discourse as civil as possible, however I feel that people should be free to speak their mind.

I am a big fan of Emmett's instruments and his methodology, and I believe in it 100% BUT, I had a really tough time learning how to play with any kind of real forward motion, and I have since decoded it - both in mirrored 4ths tuning on a Grand Stick as well as his Raised Matched Reciprocal tuning on a Rail-board. Definitely a different mindset that is required for tapping... Some folks get it right away, others of us have to work for it...

Thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

Music is what it's all about...

And thanks as well from me, as I was really hoping against all odds that this site would be up and running again.
