You may be wondering, why Netflix? Well, this is the only place that I know of that will let you "try before you buy". For less than $20 USD per month you can "check-out" 3 DVDs at a time. You can keep them as long as you like. There are no late fees! Here is the link to their home page:
www.netflix.com
I have personally viewed about 100 of these dvds specifically geared to learning how to play many various styles of guitar and bass. While none of the titles are tapping only, MANY of them do contain sections or chapters on tapping.
A search at the netflix site for guitar brings up 191 matches. A search for bass brings up 277 matches. The bass search is a little misleading because there is also a fish call a "bass". I wonder how many strings a bass fish has?
By the way, Netflix also covers the postage, both ways!
In my opinion, no matter who you are or what you know, there is plenty to be learned from some of these instructional dvds. They also offer many "performance only" dvds such as "Stanley Jordan: Live in Montreal", etc. For many who may not know, Stanley is a prominent player of touch style on a standard 6-string guitar, tuned to all 4ths (E - A - D - G - C - F).
Many of these dvds contain tablature booklets in Adobe PDF format for the "notation reading impaired".
