Traktor,

Is there an estimated time of publication for your third book?

The book is basicallly written. We did it in January.

However ... this books has to do with reading melodies, and there is a great big step to be done regarding creating written sheet music. This large step must await a large block of available time in which it can be created. And layout can take as long as writing the book. Alas, we no gotto much time in immediate future, so book publication awaits.

So the answer is: Don't know. It will be a while yet.

Hello rjgoos and Traktor and everyone,

This is my first post. Since I can already read music, I would buy a copy TODAY, sight-unseen..... and, without the sheet music! Bring it on. The world is waiting for Book 3 = Melody! I downloaded Book One (for free) from the Megatar site. I ordered Book Two from eBay. I am slobbering at the mouth for Book Three. Well, to be honest, some of that slobbering and drooling may be age related.

Hi ray,

Hi Gary,

I have played mostly fingerpicking acoustic guitar for 40+ years. I guess you could call it an alternating bass style. I have explored several open tunings over the years and played exclusively in open tunings. Like most touchstyle players, I have always been fascinated in trying to produce the sound of two individual instruments on a single guitar. I have tried to learn how to combine some moving basslines while playing the melody but it is extremely difficult. And, I could never get a "fluid" sound.

My recent discovery of the touchstyle concept awakened me from a deep musical sleep. It was like a light turned on! I have started out with Touch-Style Bassics this week on a squire strat. The concept of the Nine Holy Notes and the Folded Chords principles are all new to me, but I love it. I finally mustered up the nerve to tune my strat to parallel 4ths. Let the journey begin........ At this point I am using the right thumb to pluck the strings while fingering the arpeggios with the left. It is quite a different idea to be trying to learn a "closed system" since I have always RELIED on open strings whenever possible.
