As some of you may remember, I used to tap on a dedicated tapping instrument, then switched over to regular 6-string electric guitar for a short while.
I recently had the opportunity to try a 10-string Austin Douglas in the tuning I was already familiar with, i.e. crossed 4ths melody, inverted 5ths bass. After a short negotiation a fool and his money were soon parted, and I became the proud owner of a beautiful mahogany 10-string ADG. I've only had this instrument for a few days now, of which a large part was spent in a cramped coach class airplane seat, so I'm not very familiar with it yet, but I'm hoping to get acquainted with the instrument very soon. I'll let you all know my experiences with the ADG in a short while. So far it looks extremely promising :D
