bass or guitar amp

I've been snooping around several websites about guitar/bass amps because i'm expecting my first tapping instrument being delivered in a few weeks. (a really cool megatar truetapper with dark woods :D )
I'm looking for a nice amp in the $300 range. This leads to the difficult question weather to choose a Bass amp, accoustic amp or a guitar amp.
I'll be using it mostly for practice at home, so i won't be needing massive powerfull amps. (no huge rigs or 500watt speakers)
Could you please let me hear some of your thoughts?

I use a Carvin AG-100D. It is an acoustic guitar amp, that is also rated for bass. It also has numerous inputs, including a microphone input, and other nice features. You won't shake the plaster off the wall with it (output seems a bit low for a 100 watt amp), but mine has served me well.
