I have developed a disabling hand condition called Dupuytren’s Contracture that has progressed to the point that I can no longer play any of my musical instruments. No; it's only my hands, Thankfully! I've had several different kind of treatments (fortunately I have access to the best that Mayo Clinic has to offer), but nothing has worked. It is a bit depressing.

I hold out hope that after I recover from a second surgery on my dominant right hand I may be able to return to my original instrument - pedal steel guitar (and related slide-y instruments).

Our collective heart goes out to you, Okie. I about went nuts when I couldn't play for six weeks (broken wrist), so I can't even know how awful this must be for you.
