View Full Version : New Tappistry Memberships Delayed?

During the last couple of months, we have been experiencing a problem with new member signups.

The new member will sign up, and usually can then log on, but cannot post.

The problem is that the new user is never receiving his 'confirmation email' which the system sends out. (This is sent to make sure some 'buddy' of yours isn't signing you up without your agreement.)

As far as I can determine, it appears that the system is sending out the confirmation emails, but sometimes they come back 'refused' or 'cannot find'. I think what's really happening is that our confirmation emails are being eaten or bounced by spam-fighting programs on the user's end.

These seem to be most frequently happening with large ISPs such as hotmail, etc.

If you get stuck this way, you can always to to the Tappistry Articles or Resources section and send an email through to the webmaster/site engineer, and we can fix it for you.

However, the *best* thing to do is to make sure you get our domain 'tappistry.org' white-listed with your server, so that your server knows that email from tappistry.org is not spam. This will enable you to receive emails that other members send you, and will enable you to receive emails (if you have selected them) alerting you when there are responses to your posts.

Please take a couple of minutes and make sure that email from 'tappistry.org' is white-listed at your server.

Thanks!
