Hi all,

I am considering putting up my Phalanx for trade. Not 100% sure just yet, but I am restless... I got the Warr through this site over a year ago--- an awesome instrument. I would like to "feel out" an artist or an NS Stick. I know my chances are slim, and I do love the Phalanx. Is anyone interested in discussing this? I have pics, and I'm willing to make a trade, if I can aqcuire a great instrument.

Hello K,
I'm a new member here but have been a lurker for a while and your post has brought me from the shadows. ;)
In any case I'm interested in discussing your Phalanx, yeah that just sounds dirty to me too. LOL

Anyway I have a Warr 8-string Artist with 8) Piezo 6) midi
setup that I had made about 5 years ago. I've been playing it a bunch and have been thinking more strings may be what I need. I'd be happy to discuss the posibilities and if you could send me pics of yours that would be cool.

I'm not totally sure I want to get rid of the artist but like I say I've been tempted by more strings. I've owned a graphite chapman stick years ago, and even had a Santucci Treblebass for a while. I'll try and attach a picture of my Artist, it's not a great picture but it gives you the idea.

Hey Dirk,

Nice axe. Here's a pic of me with the Phalanx, I'll dig up more and post them asap. Not sure I want to trade just yet, either. But I like the artist. There's another pic of my Warr on the product brochure itself, available on the Warr site. It's the swamp ash bodied model. The very one.

Nice, thanks for the picture and the quick response. A couple questions for you, does it have piezo? I've gotten sort of hooked on that sound. Also is it a bolt-on or neck-thru?
And i guess the last question is where are you located? I'm in upstate NY.
We can keep discussions onboard or off it doesn't matter to me, my email is in my profile. By the way I have alot of good feedback on Ebay and have been a supporting member over at Talk Bass for a few years and have good feeback there.

No piezo. It's a bolt-on.... Swamp ash body, and maple/walnut/maple neck with a wenge top. How about yours? The Phalanx sounds monsterous when electrified, just huge... I'm in Virginia Beach, Va. How's the weather up there? I'll post a couple of full-shot pics tonight, if I can.

Hey again,
Thanks for the answers, mine is Maple Body/Walnut strip /Quilted Maple top, sweet 5A figure too. Bolt on neck Maple/Walnut/Maple/Walnut/Maple with quilted headstock Face, back and compartment covers. Piezo on each ABM bridge with mono output and 13pin roland output for the top 6 strings. The 13 pin output can also carry the mag pickups/barts of course. I picked all the wood choices myself and waited for quite a while for it to be built, if I recall somewhere around 9 months or so. The Artist is great sounding recording or amped, and I can only find 1 little ding/scratch on the top. Otherwise it's in excellent condition. I'm sure the Phalanx is fierce amped, how's the weight?
I'll try and get some better pics too.
The weather is cold and snowy as usual, allthough we've had a very mellow winter this year so far. My college roomate was from Va. beach so I'm sure it's nice there. If you see a guitar player collecting shriners hats from on his motorcycle that's him. :) LOL

Sorry no pic yet. I'll post as soon as I'm able, I promise.

Weight is about 14 lbs. It's pretty heavy, but it doesn't bother me. I don't care for the slider strap, either. I usually sling a regular strap over my right shoulder instead of my left in order to "pull" the neck where I want it to go. I'm a bassist, and I like to switch roles with the Phalanx. That's part of the reason why I'm hesitant to make a trade. But I'm still leaning toward it.

No shriner guitar-players that I know of, but the guitarist in my band BUZZARD www.buzzardfreak.com has a huge amount of masonic paraphernalia... like a compass and rule sticker on his Dan Armstrong.

If you refresh the site you can see more pics, and there are a few of my Warr on that site as well.

Hey K,
It's been a while since I responded, I just wanted to let you know I've been thinking about the trade. I've been playing my Warr a lot lately and I don't think I can let it go, I just use the piezo and midi too much.
I wish you luck on it and if you consider just selling the Phalanx I may be interested.
Thanks,
Dirk

Hi Dirk,

I've been so busy lately... sorry for the lack of communication. That's cool, no problem. I've been playing it quite a bit, myself. Probably won't sell, though. It just takes too long for anyone to manufacture a new touchboard, I don't have the time to wait. I have some old (6 years ago??) clips that I did on my old Stick for download at www.angelfire.com/freak2/krex/Krex1.html

Take care,

K

If nothing works out with anyone else, what you have is what I have been looking to upgrade to. Let me know if you are willing to part with it. I understand if you aren't!

Hey Madmanmatt,
I don't think I could get rid of mine and wait how long I had to, without a Warr. Man I've been playing it a bunch, and I have decided I can't live without the piezo/midi, well worth every extra dollar.
I'll let you know if I cave in though.
