ADG-10, all fourths FS

One of my students has an ADG-10 for sale, $950 plus shipping. This is tuned in fourths, it is set up that way. To change it would require a new nut and some setup work. The fourths are parallel, not mirror. This is similar to the arrangement used by Teed Rockwell.

How long has your student had it?
Also ive been trying to find out if ADG's can be played so that for example the bottom set of strings is put through a distortian effect and the top strings are put through a clean effect. or am i just talking a load of rubbish?
One other question what is the tuning of it? (not just fourths, but whats the lowest note to highest note ect.
