Hi,
My name is Rahul and I'm a Network Engg by profession (or so I think!). I started trying to tap and whack the (nylon strung) guitar after having being introduced to this style by, oddly enough, Kotaro Oshio. This guy is a very Michael Hedge-esque kind of player (on steel strung guitar) and I had never heard anything like that earlier. I saw his video in Young Guitar Dec 2002 DVD Young Guitar USA Store (http://www.young-guitar.com) . I was blown away by his "left hand melody" and "right hand harmonics and rhythm accompliment technique".
I would recommend this particular issue of magazine (its $16.49 cheap!!) from Young Guitar store (US based distribution store for the Japanese Shinko-Music Company). (I believe the DVD's are region 1) I recommend this for 2 reaons :
1. Its a mini instructional video: as in, Kotaro plays the piece and there is the musical and tablature notation for what he plays. And he also plays the exercise piece in slow to demonstrate what he has just played.
2. This is probably the closest you're gonna get to a Michael Hedges private lesson. And its an addition to your Tappers Video collection!
The rest of the magazine is in Japanese. But since the notations are in standard music notation and the tab uses Roman numerals as in {1,2...0}, you should be fine.
In my zest for this new technique I had also found this link (that I have not seen on this forum so far).

Hope this helps some of you people there as it helped me.
