Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has any tips for playing fast(ish) 8th notes driving bass with one hand? In fact, specifically: are there any tips on getting maximum tone when playing 2 fingers alternating on the same fret?
Cheers,
Thom...

Hi Thom,
You put the finger (good for a tapper) on an essential issue:
When you tap repeated 8ths with two or three fingers on one particular string/fretboard location you should keep in mind:
- one finger has two gently push the preceding one out of the location, such as not to interrupt the sound produced.
Hope I am clear.
now a bit of History:
The first tappers had in mind to play fast, but that was often to the cost of playing dry, with a typical 'tapping/clavinet' sound which displeased the classical musical community. Then came the desire to tap with a 'legato' expressive sound. That includes all the sorts of techniques associated with Western and indian music: ornaments, glides, held chords, and a variety of sound production.
Cordialement
Daniel
