Got a screen capture of a very cool Half-Fretless Warr Artisan that Trey Gunn played on the 2003 King Crimson Tour.

I tried to brighten it up a bit with P-shop. Not the best pic, but still very cool!

Tony Levin had a Half-fretted-half-fretless 10-string Stick that was mirror tuned each side as Bass. Sadly, this Stick perished in a barn fire while he was away. I don't know if he ever had it replaced.

It'a always cool to see these types of custom jobs.

I just hope when I get that famous, I can get stuff like this!

See attached.

Your picture isn't showing, but I know the instrument of which you speak. I saw King Crimson during the 2003 tour, and in fact, seeing Trey Gunn is exactly what got me interested in these here tap guitars.

I emailed him about the instrument shortly after the show, before I knew it was a Warr Guitar. He said it was a completely custom job based upon some of his own ideas that Mark then built for him.

Woot! I got your attachment working :)

Turns out it was awaiting moderation in the Admins control panel. Why that was I've still yet to find out, but anyway it does look like users can upload attachments to this forum. Oddly it looks like users are only free to upload to the Music, Swapmeet and Backstage forums without any moderation required but we're looking to get this fixed

I have access to better ones. Some closeups of the fretboard. I will try to get those up tonight!

I had an MP3 once of Virna Splendore of Italy, with a half-fretless Stick (if my memory serves me correctly). It sounded cool, and she played it well.
