Wondering if anyone has any links or tabs for acoustic style tapping. I'v looked up alot of artists but many of them have no tabs or sheetmusic making it really hard to learn any of it. I just recently learned Justin King's larivee video thing where he does some kool tapping in it but if anyone else has any other recommendations, all help is appreciated. Thanks

Preston Reed sells transcriptions on his website (http://www.prestonreed.com/transcrips.html). Not free but I assume they're accurate
Neat that you worked out how to play the Justin King larivee video. Is it in DADGAD like the Doolin guitar is in? A lot of the tracks on Le Bleu seem to be in the D major tonality
If you've found any other good acoustic tapping tabs please let us know!

As primarily an acoustic guitars, I've spent quite a bit of time comtemplating and experimenting with techniques for acoustic tapping.
For true 2 handed tapping, I have found an uncrossed technique seems best suited to the instrument for me. I would recommend listening to Billy McLaughlin and select Michael Hedges compositions such as "Aerial Boundaries" and "Because it's There" for examples.
One of the most famous of Billy's tap pieces is "Fingerdance", and I think that a transcription of it may be for sale at www.stropes.com.
The left hand works exclusively with hammer-ons and pull-offs, leaving the right hand for bass lines, harmonics, slaps, and occasionally extending a single string line (although I try to stay as far away from electric "eruption-type" lines as possible. This style is completely different.)
Hope this helps.

I understand what you mean, its more like 2 styles, one hand tapping and 2 hand tapping really. Cause eruption style is more one hand tapping with hammer ons. Two hand tapping would be more along the line of Stanley Jordan stuff. Either way i love it all. The tab for that video is up on MXtabs Justin King Video Tab (http://www.mxtabs.net/tabs.php?path=Guitar,j,19856,Justin+King,Larrivee+ Video,152663)
And its standard tuning just the two E strings are tuned down to D. (DADGBD). The tapping part (if your use to it) is increadbly easier once you get it down. I learned it in less than 2 hours. Anyways, thanks for the response and the advice

I dig the radical differences between players like Justin and Preston. While both use the same tools, the processes differ greatly, as do the products of their labors. It's very instructive to listen to Preston, for example, talk about all the different percussive elemtnts (not just bongo slaps, but how he prefers tapped harmonics to touch harmonics) and then listen to Justin talk about rasguedo and chord-based tapping.
BTW, Jeff: You still owe me some samples, bro! E-mail me - I'm dying to hear some of your current playing!
