Any tappers in the Brisbane area? (Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, to be exact :))
I'll be moving there in about a week, if you'd like to chitchat about tapping or anything else over a beer or something, drop me a PM (click on the "pm" button below this post). Looking forward to meeting new people in this strange land :D
And Happy New Year 2005 to everyone else as well!

Sorry, Ola, all of my friends in Australia are near Adelaide.
How long will you be "down under?"
Have some toast and Promite for me (much better than Vegemite)....and skip the Foster's....Cooper's is the only brew to have down under.

Which is where I am now, but not for much longer.

Until global warming gets to the point where I can walk barefoot in shorts and a T-shirt on New Years Eve at the beach in Helsinki as well.

Actually, Foster's is nowhere to be found, at least that was the case in Sydney & here in SA. Maybe they make it only for export, or it's big only in Victoria or something, I don't know. In fact there are quite a few smaller brands of beer that are excellent, such as James Squire (their Amber Ale is really nice), or Little Creatures (their Pale Ale is probably the best Aussie beer I've sampled so far). Coopers Sparkling Ale is OK, though.

Try James Boag Premium, made in Tasmania.
It has a reputation as Australia's best beer.
