I am back from Belgium. Another great summer seminar, some of the highlights:
-Adam Fulara - double neck tapmaster from Poland. his discussion on playing the Bach Goldberg Variations led to an interesting in class discussion.
-Matthias (forgot his last name) from Germany, the original hands uncrossed playing dude, since 1980. he wowed us with his playing on stage and at the bar.
-Jim Wright plays and lectures on Zappa
-Kuno Wagner and Markus Reuter play an amazing duet on the grand stage, combining all the best elements of tapping: ambient music, arpeggiated riffs, over the top soloing.
-Markus Reuter leading us in daily large group improv. I might say that it was like guitar craft, but since I have never been to a seminar, only heard GC recordings, I hesitate to use this term. But, you get the idea.
-Our student concert at the school house, which was actually well attended this year, even though we did not offer free beer.
-Hearing and playing with the Bulgarian music masters.
- In the school as a whole (non tappers), a more 'attractive' student body than in past years :)
overall, a great time, se you all there next year
