anybody know of any instructional materials specifically for tapping on guitar? i've had plenty of superb chapman stick lessons with greg howard and can certainly use those as a starting point, but stick technique takes for granted a degree separation between the two hands that you can't really get on guitar because there are fewer strings.

i know that stanley jordan did a video ("master class" or something to that effect?) but i am worried that it will simply rehash a lot of the independence exercises that i've already gone through with stick.

in other words, i'm looking for something that highlights the idiosyncrasies related to tapping on guitar -- the higher degree of interdependence, etc. i don't want a general approach to the tapping technique overall, because i already got that from greg.

does anybody have any experience with stanley's video or suggestions regarding other materials i might try?

Stanley Jordan's video hardly goes over any technique. He seems to just talk about himself and his gear the whole time. It's a waste of time to watch, really, other than seeing him play and control two volume pedals at once :D.

Check this out, though: http://www.petrucciforum.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=22114

Daniel Schell has, I think, a book for guitar using a technique I'd call "linear tapping". The book is in French, but illustrations make it clear enough, I think you could probably learn the method without the need to read French. (Or you could haunt the local college for attractive co-eds in French class, and beg their assistance, hmmm?)

Do a search here on Tappistry Org. The subject has come up before.

Otherwise find Daniel's site by searching for "Clic music" in Belgium.

Jennifer has a book out and I think a video which can be found on her site. I met her and she talked about another guy who taught her ....but forget his name!
