Bed sheets and pillow cases...

I've been watching eBay for Solenes for a few months now. All I ever see are bed sheets and pillow cases.... :(

I think I have only seen two Solenes for sale on eBay in the past 10 months or so, so I don't think they come up for sale often.

If my hazy memory recalls properly (which it may not), they went for about $550 or so.

As far as I know, Rich Eberlin offers a generous trial period, like Traktor does, so you can try out the instrument. It is nice to save money, but one really likes an instrument, and keeps it for years, the difference between the cost of new and used is not such a big factor.

Don't worry RJ, its not the money actually. I currently am about 1/3 through a 2 year wait on a special 7 string acoustic guitar being built. All instrument buying resources are frozen by managment (the wife) until this instrument is completed. Then I'll be able to begin the lobbying process for something else.

Interestingly, I do still have a smidgen of lobbying power for a used instrument through ebay at the right price. Must the something in the "shopper's psyche" to alow a glimmer of hope.

Since the 7 string acoustic is being built with tapping in mind, I have thought that a Solene would be a good compliment on which I can polish and translate technique while I'm waiting and beyond.

Actually, I have heard not one complaint from "management" about my interest in touch/tap guitar, the $$ spent on it, or the (sometimes painful) sounds coming out of my amp. I suspect she feels that if this interest consumes my attention during my key mid-life-crisis years, it would be a cheap investment, in the long run.
