Adam,

I was not able to view your videos on my Macintosh, so I borrowed my son's new XP computer, and watched your videos.

I am overwhelmed...especially by Bach's Invention #13 on a six string guitar....

Adam:

Yes, I think there are tools to view this kind of video for those with the new Macintosh operating system, but I have an older version at home.

HP....I can't figure out how to access "HPCrazy Radio", is this feature of your web site operational? I think this is a great idea, not only offering MP3 samples of your work, but also having a radio stream.

Hi RJ Goos,

HP....I can't figure out how to access "HPCrazy Radio", is this feature of your web site operational? I think this is a great idea, not only offering MP3 samples of your work, but also having a radio stream.

To listen to the HPCRAZY Radio you need a fast internet connection ( 256 kbps ) and the flashplayer 6 installed. If you want ot have that player as well you can buy one at http://www.wimpyplayer.com/index.html . It is a pretty cool tool and very easy to install.

You can listen to some of the songs of the HPCRAZY Radio at http://www.hpcrazy.com/hpcrazy/composer.htm . But actually I don't have any tapping guitar on those recordings. I am still working on my new CD with the focus on the tapped guitar.

Greetings

Simply mind-blowing Adam. You rule!

The Bach transcriptions were taken at shredder speed with the Prelude No 3 in C sharp much faster than I would play it on the piano - when I played it at a lively tempo for an exam they complained it was a bit too fast. An influence from Glen Gould, or possibly Yngwie Malmsteen?

I look forward to your book. Is it available yet?

If I have to tell the truth my Bach isn't very good. There is no enough poulse, logical phrasing and too many mistakes.

Last Friday I had recorded LAST tune which was no-music-sense show, I'll write about it in other topic.

Book is not ready, I mean, book IS ready, but DVD not yet. I think it will be ready in three months. After that, I'll have some problems with reciving payments here in Poland (not paypal here yet, I have heard that Poland is in European Union, but nothing here has changed) but I'll find some other solution.

I have shown your video of Invention #13 to several professional musicians, including the president of the local guild of organists. Without exception, your rendition receives high praise. We think your Bach is fine.

belive me - it isn't. But it could be, and it will be at normal classical skill in the near future.

as a pianist the only faults I could notice were the balance of lines and probably the speed in which you took them. Although Bach's keyboard works would have been written for harpsicord with no touch sensitivity, the expected approach on the piano is to use variation in dynamics. As for tempo try and see how you can bring out expression. You could make use of the excellent sustain that I'm sure your double-necked guitar has

For tap guitar I think less dynamic range is possible due to the low string action. I guess it would be possible to connect two volume pedals up to control it, but it would be a lot to comprehend at the same time! Is this limitation found through all tapping instruments?

Are there any tapping artists known for their dynamic range?

Oh, and paypal is the right way to go once it is supported in Poland. That way most people will be able to make payments easily. As a UK resident I am not able to buy many CDs from the US that I am interested in. Bill Burke, Ron Fairchild and Don Schiff all support paypal on their websites and I have their albums. Now what does that tell you?

To play Invention #13 on a six-string guitar is like, to us a Olympic metaphor, doing a floor exercise on a balance beam. If one aspect or another wasn't 100% perfect is not the point. Everybody I have shown this video to, has been speechless, for the sheer skill of being able to play it at all, on something quite a bit more challenging than a keyboard.
