I am now a true tap member in the fact I have the Phalanx 12-string from Karlos. This will be a challenge, but I’ve always been up for challenges and, it will occupy my time positive way. I have been tapping for a while, but only out of necessity. I have not been huge on the tap “tone” over the years but hey, it gets the job done and it’s very fun (I have the upmost respect for great tappers, believe me, lines are lines). I will be playing it live on stage next week with the cover band I work with, I can’t think of a better way to work this beast than trial by fire (which I find most digable). This isn’t meant to be a wordy braggadocios post, I’m just all fired up about this, another thing to learn. What’s also different for me is I’m a soloist first (guitar) single line jazz stuff and Joe Pass style and classical, but now to pull double duty by tap alone, holy schnikeys! With it being Cinco de Mayo and I just received this, yes, it will be me you’re hearing in the distance screaming drunk and playing (or I should say tapping) tonight.
