There are now two videos of a performance of Frank Zappas' music, recorded last fall with a trio, at my personal website:

This is on a Warr PH-12, and triggering a guitar synth, which is very obvious in the shorter of the two videos, a segment of "The Black Page #2". The melody begins with only guitar, and then the synth is added after the first phrase.
The other video is the tune "Heavy Duty Judy". It's a great example of the lack of crosstalk on the Phalanx.

Windows Media player is needed to view them.
Enjoy!

Great work with the Zappa. Both tempos were slightly slower but you were still able to convey the conviction of both pieces. Your volume could have been a little louder but overall very Nice.

Great stuff - thanks for sharing, Jim.

By the way - how do you set your GR-30 to accomodate the looong scale length? I'm using a GR-33 and VG-8ex with my Warr TGSS, and have some trouble due to (I think) scale length.

I haven't done anything to the GR 30 other than play with the "play feel" settings to make it trigger in a more ideal fashion. The peizo pickup on the Warr is fantastic, and takes the guesswork out of guitar/synth triggering. It's the next best thing to playing a keyboard. You just set all the sensitivities very low.
What kind of problems are you having with your rig?
From what I understand, the synth doesn't care about the scale length, it just wants to figure out the fundamental of the note.

Thanks for the reply - I'll try again and check that the sensitivity isn't set too high. And the play feel might be a factor too. I know with the VG-8, there's a place to set scale length, but it doesn't go much past a strat type length.

The problem is getting the lower notes to trigger properly. In the mid-range, it was working pretty well. I'll try again, though. Thanks for the tips!
