this is my guitar. it's what I tap on. I rig it up for tapping by loosening my guitar strap all the way, then I fasten the neck to the strap using a hemp necklace, and it holds it vertical for touchstyle. The pickups are SD Jeff Becks, the fretboard is ebony, the bridge is an out of production Schaller Roller Bridge, and the body is totally hollow, about the size of a telecaster. Made by a builder from New Brunswick named Paul Echols. He has no web site.

That's a nice looking instrument. What's the tone like?

i run it through a solid state amp (unfortunately) but the tone is very warm and even, sustain is good. I'm not sure what adjectives to use to describe tone, to tell you the truth... I'm not sure what kind of guitar I'd really compare it to. it's got it's own feel... it feels so small hanging on me, but I'm a pretty small guy myself, so it fits. you'll notice the bridge is way over near the end of the body, and not in the middle like a les paul, and farther over than a strat. This gives the guitar a very compact feel that I like. Good distorted, lots of power, but still smooth, lots of cut, incredible sustain. the action is sooo low, but I don't get buzzing, and I've got flatwound strings on it, which make sliding really easy. A great instrument, for traditional guitar playing style and tapping.

Cool. I used flat wounds for a while (I have them on my bass now), they were lots of fun.
