Doing any task for hours at a time has the potential for aches-and-pains. Even before I was in the blessed touch-universe, my right shoulder would eventually ache because of the thickness of my old dreadnaught guitar, and I had occasional right-hand tendon pain from the long stretches I was trying to do.

Now, I am playing a 10-string Stick at least an hour per day, and I was not surprised to find new aches and pains develop. The worst is an occasional left wrist pain, as well as some neck/shoulder tiredness. I don't know why I should have wrist pain, as I try very consciously to keep my wrist fairly straight while playing. The neck/shoulder thing is understandable, as I am a raw beginner, and I must look at my fingers, after all, which puts my neck at an odd angle.

So, I am curious...what aches and pains have you developed in playing touch/tap guitar, and what have you found that works to minimize these pains?

Thanks,

RJ
