I've had a 10-string Stick for four weeks, as of yesterday. I suppose I practiced about an hour a day since then.
Today, to celebrate my first month in the tap-universe, I plugged it into a mono effects pedal, and the output of that into my wife's computer, and recorded a few excerpts.
I posted the MP3 at:
http://homepage.mac.com/rjgoos
It contains an excerpt of a simple two-finger warm-up drill, and some excerpts of some folk songs.
Hey, it's pretty bad, I know...lots of mistakes, fret buzzes, hesitations, bad timing, etc., but sometimes newbies ask, "How hard is it to play a Stick?" I guess one way of answering that is, "I don't know, but I had never touched one before, and this is how far I got in four weeks..."
