Hi Folks.
Just letting you know that I'm offering a complete tuner system upgrade to those of you who have the older single knob tuning systerm on our SRB-640's guitars for $195.
This includes the bridge with 12 seperate tuning knobs and string holders.
Simply replace the bridge via the six plate screws.
Here is a link as to what the tuners look like:

Hey Stu - Ernie here.
Tom Drinkwater and I were regrooving my Box guitar at his house and we love these new bridges! But we are so used to the original one that we are too afraid to change it!
I also swapped out the pickups for DiMarzio Fast Tracks.
Ooooooooooooooooooh!

Hi Ernie,
How did the fast tracks work out?
Re bridge. Its the same bridge plate so as long as the saddles are placed back in the same spot you shouldn't have a problem though you'll probably need to tweek the intonatation and string heights if you loose the saddle positions.
A way around this is to remove the tuners from the new bridge and install them on the old bridge without removing the bridge from the guitar.
should be able to do this without upsetting the saddles.
I guess I could simply offer the tuners without the bridge plate and include detailed instructions on how to install them onto the existing bridge.

I would be interested in your opinion of the Fast Track sound. I've a bridge Pro Track and a neck Cruiser that i want to install on the right side of my 640 and have been holding off on because I don't want to replace the bridge Hot Rails on either side and have also been hoping RJ would come thru with a TapLadder that I could install them on.
As for the new bridge, definitely won't upgrade, too cluttered, I like the simplicity of a single tuning knob (tho the felines have swiped it on occasion), maybe on my next one...............
Patiently awaiting my short scale Hyler Model II.........................

Nice to hear from you.
I love DiMarzio pickups - very easy since they are a mile down the road from me! I have Fat Tracks in most of my instruments that have single coils because I want a consistent sound with my amps and effects. In the Box - they are very clear and articulate. Plus, I have the specific Fast Track 1 & 2 for neck and bridge. The cool sound IMHO, is when you use a mono cable and you really blend the pickups into one sound.
Also, you should know that Tom set the guitar up for the "DO EVERYTHING" playing style - Tap, Strum, Shred, Fingerpick, so the pickups are much more functional with this approach.

One thing I found with the Fast tracks. I loaded a 12 stringer up with 6 fast tracks once and the magnetic force seemed to be so strong that it actually dampened the strings and created some weird harmonics and overtones. Have you come across this?

If someone wants to save money on this upgrade, you can switch the bridge and sell the old one to me for 100!
