Mobius has a some really great news. Our Mission -- to create more music on this planet with high-value instruments and a faster-learning method -- has passed quite a few milestones since we emerged from the Mists of Time, way back, oh, ten years ago ...
And we have a NEW reason to celebrate, which you can discover here --
http://megatar.com/promo/meg-millennium
We're calling this celebration the "Meg Millennium", for reasons which will become clear!
And ... there are some really cool reasons why you may be interested.
In fact there are HUNDREDS of reasons!
It *is* limited in time, and can end at any moment, without notice, so you probably want to visit and get the facts sooner ... rather than later. You don't want to miss out!
Again, full details given here --
http://megatar.com/promo/holiday-cheer/
I think you will find the Meg-Millennium page entertaining, and useful.
But please remember, limited offer. Can vanish at any time.
-- Traktor
PS: In other news, during the last week MegaTapper Newsletter subscribers received six new videos, some new performance vids, and some are howto videos. More on that later.
PPS: Hope to see you signing up for the Meg-Millennium. No cost, just savings, that is, for those who sign up in time, while the signing is good!

Hi, folks,
I have a request to make, please.
For any of you who are members of other appropriate forums, or who are in a position to tell other musicians about the Meg-Millennium, I would be grateful if you would do so.
Thanks.
-- Traktor
PS: You may wish to be cautious on Stick-centric areas, as some of the more hot-headed members can be a little ... odd. As it happens, this morning some dude was complaining on the Stickist.com forum about EBay instruments advertised with "Chapman Stick-style tuning", which of course is exactly what Greg and quite a few others previously said was the only correct way to describe the tuning. At any rate, I replied, as politely as I could, about this and in response to another query in the thread, I mentioned the Meg Millennium. I expect that there might well be some incoming missiles. (Not incoming to this forum, I'd guess, but incoming toward my humbo self.) For those as likes such things, it may be entertaining. For those as likes to avoid such things, a word to the wise is sufficient. Let he that hath ears hear.

Disclaimer: I'm not a hot-head. Sorry
I haven't been here for a while but since you visited another site that I frequent and made some claims I thought I'd take a look.
I need some clarification on the sales pitch. One thousand people making music on the Meg? What does that mean? Is it 5 people per instrument? Are there 1,000 Megs distributed? And you claim they sound and feel better and stay more in tune. Better than what? Lotta' innuendo there.

That's right, Steve, you're not a hot-head, at least not in my experience.
And no, Steve, you don't need clarification. You are already as clear as the riven snow. You absolutely crystalline, in my opine.

This whole battle of who's best and who has this and that ect... is getting quite boring. It has and will alway's be word of mouth and and now the "youtubes" of the world that sell an instrument. With these instuments being relativily new the field is small and competition is high and devottee's true. I am sure Leo had his share of headaches but look at it now, good or bad. I say good just because it brings in new players to tapping.

Gotta Stick with Steve here, are there 1000 Megatar players or have 1000 Megatars been sold ?? What milestone am I to celebrate ?? If the latter means the former then ponder this, I proudly purchased 4 Megatars (so far), donated one to Ernie's instrument Foundation, and am currently modifying one and playing two, so where does this fit Traktor  ??

An answer like a true politician. So I ask again (see my previous post)
A 1000 what? (bottles of beer on the wall?)

Glenn, all by yourself you are 4 percent of the celebration, if measured by instruments.
But some folks have two, and some instruments have belonged to more than one owner, and I know of at least a couple of Megatars that are played by more than one person in the household. Hard to count the humans precisely, but it appears to be roughly the same as the instruments.

Remember, when claims go out your door, facts come innuendo.
You claim Megs are better than what?? Can I assume you're not talking harmonica?

I don't understand the Meg Ryan pun. I usually understand your punny names, but I don't get this one.
I'm glad to see that the Meg Millennium (http://megatar.com/promo/meg-millennium/) so fascinates you. Have you signed up? Are you considering an upgrade? Thanks for dropping in!

If you be real still, and listen carefully, perhaps you can hear them, too.

Still no answer to my questions. You should run for office.
Yeah you're right, I'm real interested in your ax.
Send me a comparison video of how it's better (than what?)
My new ax arrives in a few weeks. Let's compare our instruments via youtube.
No need to answer my previous questions. You've already done so.

Hi, Steve,
So you were unhappy with your old instrument, and you're getting a new one? Damn! I wish you'd thought to call me before you spent all that money.
Oh, well, no matter. But as regards the video, gee, it's too bad you don't get the newsletter. Folks that get the MegaTapper News (http://megatar.us/NEWSLETTER) actually got six videos last week, and you would have learned quite a bit about several advantages of Megatar instruments.
Steve, if you wish, you can sign up for the newsletter. I usually charge $149 per year for this newsletter for outspoken Stick public-relations folks, but for you, I'll comp your sub, because, dammit, I like you.
I didn't actually realize you were so interested in Megatar instruments! Cool! Thank you! If your new axe isn't any better than the old one, give me a shout, OK?

4 percent of the celebration tells me you've sold 100 Megatars, did you misplace a decimal point ???

Hi, Glenn,
Thank you for helping to publicize the Meg-Millennium Celebration (http://megatar.com/promo/meg-millennium/)!
But ... I have it on good authority that it is no longer PC to refer to the Swine Flu. It's because of devout Israelites, who have started a movement to have the Swine Flu renamed as the Mexican Flu. Seriously. It's because swine are not kosher. (http://megatar.us/KOSHERFLU)
I've heard nothing as to what the nation of Mexico thinks about this proposal.
Gosh, seems like people are always squabbling ... about the silliest things!

Steve is great.
Glenn is "glennoruos" (how about that?)
Ernie - is sick of the comparisons, they are stupid, stupid, stupid.
Long Live The Tapladder. It's not trying to be anything but a cool idea.
Sick of this stuff.

(Actually, I have already replied to you privately about this, and you have already heard my response to this particular question. Nothing served by dragging it out again; it's kind of like picking at a sore spot, sometimes it's heard to resist, but it promotes no healing.)

I said one thing - what "I" thought was a nice thing, and I got back alley beat down in a private message. I have always made it a point to be fair on this site, but to get message I received and the unfair tone of it was absolutely shocking and un-called for. Especially when someone thinks I'm "Pro-Megatar" and anti-everything else - and they have never even spoken to me personally about where I stand these days. But I got it anyway, and now - I must insist I go away for good. You can do whatever you want and complain and compare to your hearts content - have fun with that.
Those of you who know personally and have my email - say hello at anytime.
I'm done with this forum.

I respect Ernie's position and I'm sure that he will be missed here...
We have already discussed about Traktor's advertising strategies and everybody said what had to be said. If you dislike this kind of publicity / promotion as I do please IGNORE IT. I feel is the best thing to do and take care of our community.
Please lets forget this thread gentlemen.

Well, now that just sucks, Ernie.
Ernie, I'm sorry you got attacked. You've been extremely level-headed in this forum's ups and downs over the years, and have taken no sides.
In fact, you've expressly had good things to say about all instruments, and have participated in a very giving and caring manner.
If you wish to go away, OK, though I sure liked having you here, and you've been a real asset. You're probably more valuable than whoever jumped you, but I don't know who that was.
(Perhaps the brave individual might PM me and let me know.)
PROMOTIONS AND RESISTANCE
=======================
You know, although the promotions I've offered have actually been rather popular with the folks that actually want to get an instrument, there has been an amazing amount of bellyaching, in my opinion, at anything seen as any faintest whiff of criticism toward older or other designs.
Well, golly, if you truly have an automobile with 2009 design, and you clearly see that some other design is from 1940, it is very very difficult to tell folks about your advantages without some inference that other designs might not be as strong.
It is very very difficult to talk about an advantage without at least an awareness of some other product which might not have that advantage. Take Stick for example. They talk about their wonderful triangular frets for example. Now this infers that normal frets are not as good. I leave it to you to consider whether triangular frets or normal guitar frets are better, but the point is that I don't go jump on their case for advertising triangular frets. Why should I? If they like triangular frets, they can have them.
However, some folks don't seem to want to extend the same courtesy when I talk about the rather long list of advantages available on Megatars. When did all this start?
It all started when I began directly comparing instrument design.
What is it about direct comparison that so upsets some folks?
THE ATTEMPT TO BE COURTEOUS
=========================
As you perhaps realize now, on the Meg-Millennium promotion, I put quite a bit of effort into stating our advantages without calling any other design on the carpet. Because I have friends who play many other instruments. My personal view is that pretty much all these instruments are good. But we've also worked our butts off to make ours even better, in dozens of ways.
It's a little discouraging to be attacked, to have friends attacked, to have threads hijacked, and to experience less-than-courteous behavior ... but if the powerful (and rather obvious) advantages of a modern design cause this reaction then I am also cheered because ...
THE CYCLE OF A NEW IDEA
====================
You probably already know it's been extremely common, in the history of humans on this planet, that new ideas usually go through a common cycle:
First the new idea is laughed at, as if it's ludicrous.
Then the new idea is vilified, and the proponents are painted as devils.
Then the new idea gains a grudging acceptance, and folks argue about pros and cons.
Then the new idea is hailed as having been obvious all along.
Some forty years ago, Emmett and his excellent instrument began to encounter this phenomenon, and I'd guess that he's made it up to about step three at this point. At least, among guitarists in the world.
It's an old saying, but has some wisdom, that the most ardent revolutionary becomes a conservative the day after the revolution is over. And that seems to be true here.
About ten years ago, Mobius Megatar and our excellent instrument began to encounter these four steps, and we seem to have got up to about step two so far, with the former revolutionaries as the most ardent conservatives now.
I don't know whether that's all necessary, but it seems to be the way that us primates operate.
Maybe all this emotion and denunciation is a good sign.
Maybe it's a signpost of progress arriving.
What do you think?
IT REALLY IS A NEW DAY
===================
As the dawn breaks over a new age of expansion and light, and as you pioneers in two-handed tapping influence an ever-widening sphere of the music world, you're creating another revolution.
These petty sniping campaigns are just the scattering of dust before a tidal wave. They're small-minded and unimportant. Just part of being humans, though, like having smelly feet sometimes.
I'm looking forward to the day when *all* these instruments have arrived at step four.
In the meantime, my heartfelt thanks to all of you who are actively supporting the Meg Millennium celebration (http://megatar.com/promo/meg-millennium/). Your embracing our efforts to make the world a better place makes me glad to be a part of it.
