so is anyone of you entering the guitar rig 2 youtube contest?

I saw that this stick tapper is there:

No need to own guitar rig, the full functioning demo version is enough the enter. It must be restarted every 30 minutes tho! You can win gibson guitars, and a new intel quad chip rigged laptop thats not in the stores yet and possible a guitar rig 3 haha.

I got to say gt3 sounds surprisingly good . With the splitter for stereo instruments it seems like the final solution for the effect chain madness.

My first foray into the "video" thang.
Not enough tapping instruments on there!
Thanks again for your kind words.

OK, did that. So i take it then that the "public voting" is the one that gets higest rating on the stars?

I am genuinely flattered by all of your kind words.
This was also my way of saying thanks to all of you for your posts, instructions, and advice!
I have owed Traktor a Megatar tapping video for 6 years now. I just never had a video camera! I'm glad you liked it.
Guitar Rig (2 or 3) is just the way to go when it comes to recording.
I think everyone else here should download to software and enter as soon as you can.
Everyone - again - thank you!

I have enjoyed Guitar Rig, up till now.
Now, I have to get a gym membership, and hire someone like Chuck Norris as a teacher.

Parking lot! Parking lot! :D
I watched your video again Ernie, and liked even more!
Some questions:
1) How did you get that funky sound with your meggy? A rough description of your patch pls?
2) I really liked the deep percusive sound of your stick! Again pls what kind of effects chain?
3) Details about that 'tubular' guitar? Looks really cool and sounds very nice.
4) Your parker guitar has piezos isn't it?
5) How is your tapladder tuned?
Again, congratulations and RESPECT man!

Darn,
Daniel thanks again. It's a little early right now, but I will provide some screen shots and see how I can send my patches in an attachment so you just load them up.
But to simply answer your questions, here I go:
1. The Megatar patch is a split patch that has the melody side sounding like an organ using the LFO modifier on the the EQ controls on the amp. I used a modified bass amp patch on the bass side with an envelope follower.
2. I pride myself in always being able to get a good Stick "bass" sound. I will send that screen shot patch as well. It was a bass amp with a boost and distortion I believe.
3. The tubular metal guitar is built by "Born To Rock Design." This was one of my first endorsements back in 1993. It's welded aluminum tubing - which makes it a hollow body! That was a sick patch too! Even I started saying "is this really all coming out of a computer????" Because it all was!
4. The Parker is their >>now<< highly sought after "Parker Spanish Fly" nylon string. I emphasize the ">>now<<" because when they came out in 2000, people didn't understand it or get it." I did! Now everybody wants one and they are like $4000 and they aren't even made the same way anymore. They are part of the Parker "Select" series. The piezo bridge on mine is a super killer Fishman brass looking thing! Very solid. Now they just use a a standard classical piezo.
5. The Tapladder tuning is the un-crossed one with the lowest bass string on the outside, and a baritone melody on the other side. The highest strings coming towards the middle. I still love the one knob Idea!
Thanks again for the kind words. Again, I am long overdue for musically participating in this forum. I have actually gotten back into playing more recently when my buddy Jim came over a little over a month ago and it is fun!
I'll get those screen shots out later today.

Hello all!
The Guitar Rig Hero 3 contest is officially closed and the true voting process has begun and will end on October 14.
I am pleased to say that I have made the Top 30 in 25th place (http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=grheroranking) .
I would appreciate any and all additional votes (per day if you have time). It will be (and has been) a big step for tapping. I have received some nice comments in general (mostly from y'all), so I know people are paying attention.
At this point, I'm trying to go for the "Judges" prizes which is separate from the "audience" judging (which is sketchy at best - lots of jealous guitarists out there. Can you imagine?). The judges are actually a panel of highly respected players, etc. The audience prizes are guitars - which I don't need. The judges prizes are gear like laptops and other toys - which I could use, but don't need. Just looking for respect as a musician and pushing the tapping thang further. I hope they do this again and all of you consider participating in it.
Thanks everyone.
Ernie

Congrats on making the list. I'm voting for you, but I have to say there are a lot of other seriously talented mofos in this contest too.
Overall, a good advert for Guitar Rig

Jamsire it's in 20th place!
Just a couple of details / tricks for the vote.
1) You can vote once per day, so from today until the 14th you can enter every day and give Ernie a well deserved vote.
2) The fact that already you voted is stored in a cookie in the browser. So if you use more than one browser (for instance you have I.E and Firefox or Safari & Firefox) or more than one computer, you can vote once per day with EACH browser / computer. Personnally I believe that Ernie did a VERY NICE job with that video so I'll vote for him twice ;-). The advantage of this is that it will allow you to test a different browser and get rid of I.E (the swiss cheese of the internet, security speaking). Give Firefox a try, Opera is a VERY nice browser too, and look at the bleeding edge and try Google's Chrome too ;).
Go Ernie go!
We will meet you at the parking lot :D
Cheers, Daniel.

You will find more info here. (https://electionimpact3.votenet.com/declareyourself/voterreg2_ret/)
Democracy is a living entity that needs freedom, reflexion, dissent, discussion and participation. It's up to you to not starve it and keep it in good shape.
Now, stepping down of my soap box ;) I wish you a nice week-end, Daniel.
