Hi all. I'm curious if any of you tappers have experience with tube amps. I've got 2 15" Carvin 400 watt speakers. Currently I'm using a PA mixer/head, and it gives me a very clear clean sound. I find myself wanting more of a warm fuzzy sound, like i can get from a tube amp. And recommendations for good amps that would work? Any info would be appreciated.

I'm currently using a Mesa/Boogie M2000 for my Warr, which has a switchable tube/FET preamp, and a FET power amp. I can overdive the tube side, and blend it with the clean FET sound to get a cool grindy tone without sacraficing low end.

I've also got an all tube preamp(Boogie BassTriaxis) and power amp(Boogie Coliseum 300), and use that for my bass. I haven't played it with the Warr yet, but it's great for my bass. Cool tone, and more musical to my ears than most solid state amps. Drawbacks are they are heavy, and usually don't get higher than 500 watts.

Boy, you guys sure must like it LOUD. I use the guitar and bass inputs on a Carvin AG100D acoustic guitar amp....more than loud enough for my needs.

I do warmly remember the tube amps in the 60s, though. I wouldn't go back, though.
