Howdy everyone, I have some news regarding my business for anyone interested. I am moving soon, only 3 miles from my current location, and will be without a shop until sometime next year. Unfortunately it is too late in the year to start building the shop/photography studio I want so it can wait until spring. Until then I will have a small workspace for my small milling machine and other metal working tools. I will keep the tablesaw set up to slot fretboards too. I am really excited about the move because it will give my kids a big yard to play in, a smaller house which uses 1/3 of the oil my current one does, immediate access to the atv trails for dirtbiking and eventually a nice shop/photography studio.
I will be selling a bunch of my guitars off too so keep an eye out in the used instrument section of my site. I will offer a 10% off discount to any of you tappistry.org members too. Just shoot me an email and we'll hook it up.

Hi, Tom,

Where are you moving to? It almost sounds like you're migrating near the Berkeley hills, hmmm?

Just moving a few miles from where I am now. Still staying in Oakland, Maine. I just can't get enough of the long winters up here. Have you ever seen "The Shining"? hahahaha.

Oh.

All this time, I thought you were in Oakland California. I know of Oakland Texas, and now Maine. How many Oaklands are there? It's almost as if there is an Oak-Land wherever the Oaks grow!

Yup. I now live in the house that my mom grew up in. My grand parent owned this house for 52 years. It was built in 1893. Back in those days massive oak trees lined the streets. There are very few of those old trees left. Even now in some spots it is like driving through a tunnel of foliage. Only a matter of time though as they die off and get cut down until we'll have to rename the town Stumpland.
