For those wondering, dhrupad77 (Daniel Minoza) was offline for a few days, bit by the Tappistry 'Member-Flag' bug.

This doesn't happen often, but now and then, the flag that says 'member' in an account gets changed to 'awaiting', and then the guy cannot get in to post.

I don't know why, and I'm certain none of the admins are changing it, so I suppose it's an intermittent bug. Ugh!

If it ever happens to you, you aren't blackballed or anything like that. It's just a weirdness and fixable. Just send email to the webmaster/@/ tappistry.org, and one of us will fix it.

While we're on the subject of Tappistry.Org software, we really need to upgrade to the new version.

Our existing version lacks several things. One is a way to screen new users signing up. Our software cannot discern whether it's a human or a robot wanting to spam everyone about things we already get too much of in our email!

This means that a human (usually me) has to approve each new user. Generally I can tell the difference between a human and a robot, but not always!

The upgrade is already paid for, but to upgrade the software will require --

(a) somebody who knows their way around a linux webserver;

(b) it will destroy the existing 'theme', and the 'theme' will need to be rebuilt;

(c) It would be good to also change the 'Articles' and 'Resources' from Neucleus CMS to WordPress and to get new Articles and Resources updated.

So I'll personally sweeten the kitty like this --

Is there anybody who has experience with webservers, and CSS and html (and maybe familiarity with php and bulletin board software), who would undertake this job?

And if I ask -- is there anybody who would be willing to undertake this job, and competent to do it, in return for a sweet discount on a new Megatar instrument?

Although I'm the site engineer here, I've been lacking time enough to undertake this task, and would make it worth your while if you are able to do it.

If interested and got the experience to back it up, please contact me privately. My email address is tappers /et/ megatar.com or phone me at 530 938 1100 (usa) to discuss.

Experienced web gurus only please, as we just cannot gamble the integrity of the forum data as a learning experience! Thank you!
