Hi Ernie,

I tried one of these out when I first got the idea for the StepABout, looking foirst to see if there was anything out there that did what I wanted befoe asking someone to design something. It sounds nice, though it doesn't have the dynamic range and tone shaping the Basslab BassXX circuit does.

The main reason why I didn't get one was that ot only had one effects loop and one output, which didn't suit the routing goals I had in mind for the StepABout.

If you have an instrument with passive pickups, the StepABout will give you very quiet, dynamic, and flexible tone shaping for each side independently, and then you can route either signal out into whatever signal path you want.

It will also work with active pickups, but you don't get as much of the benefit of the preamps. Killer preamps.

And yes, Tom, it is sweeeet if I do say so myself.

Happy Tapping,
Greg

Incredible piece of gear. I own one and it's the masterpiece of my rig, I can't now play without it (and I own a Stik with active pickup) ;)
