View Full Version : Online Two-Hand-Tap Video

Hello All,

I do two-hand-tap on acoustic guitar, often in a very percussive manner. Sometimes my left hand does all the bass and chord work so my right hand is freed up for percussion only. On other songs, though, I do a more traditional two-hands-on-the-neck technique. And some songs use a combination. I also sing (though I also have some instrumentals) - my act is about half original, and half covers of songs by bands like Talking Heads and Pink Floyd...

Anyway, I have a short video online (about 3 minutes, excerpts from 3 songs). It uses the latest version of the Flash plug-in, but you can also see it in Real or Quicktime by clicking "use a different player." It works with either a 56K modem or high speed connection. [ I have since updated this page and video - see comments in my next post (3rd on this page). ]

I'd be interested to hear your comments about my act, or my demo video...

Hi,

"Really great ! I like it !"
-Thanks!

So I've updated my site, and the page I linked to (above). I'm no longer solo - I'm working with a singer. So the first thing on my video page (now audio/video page) are brand-new, full-length, audio-only songs recorded with my new singer.

[ The selections on our demo rely heavily on my more percussive techniques, so I've shortened the demo video (which is now below the audio demo - scroll down). The video used to have 3 segments, but now there's just one. That is so people who listen to the audio-only songs will be able to see what that more percussive style looks like. The songs I removed (especially the first one) used a more 'traditional' (2 hands on neck) technique. I hope to make a new video in the future of songs with that technique as well, once things get rolling with the new singer. ]

As always, any and all opinions/impressions are welcome.

Thanks again,

-Jon
