Hey ....I had to edit this post when I realized I put the wrong price in my post...(I was wondering why I hadn'y received any email) The actual asking price is $900....I'm suprised I didin't recieve any emails telling me I was crazy for trying to sell it for so much! Later.

I have a basically Brand New solene for Sale. I bought this directly from the inventor and maker Rich Erberlin on October 12th, 2002 at the Arlington Guitar show. I have recently spoken to Rich via email, and he told me that only "About 24 Solenes have been built." When I bought it he included a stand (which he custom made) and a book that he wrote to learn to play it. I Also have a Custom, color matched "Capo" that he made me and a letter decribing how to use and install it.

This Solene is equipped with 14 seperate active (9v inside the tube) pick-ups (2 banks of 7) switchable on a 5 position switch. His site shows solenes with 2 singles coils? Not sure if that is an older version or what. This one also has a sliding volume control (see pics).

I am (was) a giutar and musical intrument collector for almost a decade but recent life changes have made it very hard for me to keep instruments around that I am not playing. I am currently Neck deep in the pedal steel guitar and it has pretty much taken over my life!!!!!

This solene has been used VERY LITTLE see pics (Currently has the 2nd set of Strings ever). It has Absolutley ZERO fret Wear, Scratches, dings or damage. I am asking $900 OBO for everthing including shipping w/ insurance. I will send anyone interested more pictures and I will be glad to answer any questions. Thanks Danny

I bought a used Solene a few years ago, and I should say that Danny's unit has a couple important upgrades over mine.

It has two sets of active pickups, mine only has one. Each string has its own single-coil pickup, but some are reverse-wound for hum cancellation. My Solene has absolutely no hum, and I assume Danny's is the same.

Also, it appears that Danny's unit has the slot in the pipe for the left thumb. This allows the thumb to be behind the fretboard, instead of behind the back of the pipe. That is an important upgrade.

Wow Goos, I had no idea you owned a Solene. I see from the tap ladder thread that it didn't end your quest for new tapping instruments. So what has your Solene experience been like? Most importantly, what color is it? :-)

Hey Murphy,

It's black. The action is very low, and intonation is good. The quality of construction, and the baked-on finish, is very good. The sound is bright...but not tinny. I picked it up used maybe a year and a half ago.

But with my current construction projects, I haven't had enough time to devote to it.

Couldn't have said it any better.
