Virginia Beach Tap-In

I'd like to put together a non-denominational tap-guitar event in Virginia Beach, VA. Not knowing the first thing about the logistics of putting something like this together, I need to research this area.

Can anyone help?

What's your vision for the event? A low-key get together? A teaching seminar? A tapping extravaganza?

Vision? Do we need one of those?

No, I'm not thinking of a get together where everyone gets together, drinks beer and jams out (although that might be a part of the event). This event would be a learning-based seminar which focuses on playing technique with an emphasis on the propagation of the tapping method. Classes, demonstrations, interactive playing and concerts would all be part of the event.

Virginia Beach Resort and Conference Center is well-suited for such an event, and I'm seriously looking into it. I have good friends who run the place, and it's very nice. The area is beautiful, with lots to see and do. I think it would be a blast.

I'm also conspiring to host a prog-rock festival in Virginia Beach or Norfolk, VA... with my band BUZZARD, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Trephine, The Muffins, Aleuchatistas, Behold... the Arctopus, and anyone else I can get on the bill.
