But thursday 's just as bad..

Just like that song by Albert King :D .... the weather in the Netherlands is dreadfull, there's a weather alarm, storms reaching speeds up to 130 km/h (over 85 mp/h)... we're not used to that kind of natural violence, there hasn't been anything like this since 1990...

so how's the weather on the other side of the atlantic?

We are having a very odd winter here in North Dakota (central part of USA, next to Canadian border). November and December were warmer than normal. All of the major winter storms have tracked south of us, so states like Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, etc. have been buried with ice and snow something like 3 times, and normally snowy North Dakota has almost no snow.

Despite warmer-than-normal temperatures, we are having troubles with pipes freezing in the ground (despite being buried 1.5 to 2 meters deep in the soil). The reason....the autumn was dry, the soil is dry, and there is no snow. Dry soil with no snow cover freezes deep and fast. I had to have a plumber come over and unfreeze some of our sewer pipes...the first time that has ever happened.

So, very weird weather.
