Is stain possible?

I love the look of my Phalanx, but would like to make it darker...

Is it possible to stain the instrument fully assembled, or would I have to disassemble it first? How about just the body? The entire instrument?

Would removing the bolt-on neck present problems upon its reassembly?

Not only would you have to remove the hardware, you would also have to remove the finish that is on it now.
