Congratulations to our own 'Jamsire' (Ernie Jackson) of New York!
As some here know, for some time now Jamsire has been teaching music classes at Queensborough Community Collage, and as of very recently, he has been made a full professor of music technology, production, and multimedia!
Pretty neat for us in the touch-style community, because Ernie often teaches his classes with touch-style instrument in hand, and integrates the tapping instrument with production techniques as he goes. I'm guessing these are pretty popular classes.
Pretty neat.
And does this mean he will be wearing tweed sport coats with leather patches on the elbows? Will he smoke a pipe? Will he grow bald and thoughtful?
Only time will tell.
In addition, there is talk of a public access television program. More on this soon.
And in the meantime -- congratulations, Jamsire!

I call all traveling touchstyle players who may pass through NYC at any given time to come on my Cable Show:
"BIG GUY, BIG GUITAR"
Just let me know if you will be in the area - Long Island and New Jersey is ok too.
I would love to feature players and get some video exposure out there.
You can contact me here - just send me a private message on this site.
No, I don't have money to pay - sorry. But I'll pickyou up, buy food, and get a video to you at the end of the shoot for your own use.
LET ME KNOW!!!!!

New Jersey?
Despite denials to the contrary, rumor has it that Jersey Ray still does some tapping (scroll to the bottom of the page):

Does the Krapmeister do any public performance, or maybe could put together some video during the construction of an instrument?
Just a thought.

You were wise not to call the show 'Big Guy, Big Instrument' ;) though it might have improved ratings somewhat...
I'd like to see it via some medium. Any chance it could be uploaded as a podcast or having extract clips on youtube?

Just remember or keep in mind that I am first, a psycho ex-shredder with expensive classical guitar training and that's what gonna be on the show mostly.
The touchstyle stuff I'll do as best I can when I can - which is why I am reaching out to you guys. I simply would love to feature some of you if I can.
Thanks.

Jay, can we get that in English? I know there was a lot of international press at my farewell performance as a touchstylist. Anyway, these days I am a simple itinerant bayan player.

Wouldn't it be more correct if you said, " ... Anyway, these days I am a simple itinerant Bayan tree or bush."
Please correct me if I am mistaken in any regard.

Accordian to my dictionary, a banyan is the tree. :)

A bayan is a Russian accordion.
Wouldn't an itinerant banyan tree be something like a triffid?

INDEED!
The secret to making Bach funky is to start on the "and" of the beat. That's where the funk is.
