Win a Roland Loop Station!
by the Tappers Guild

Free giveaway! No cost to enter! You could win! It's easy and it's fun!

Hello! And welcome to the new TappistryOrg website. We hope you enjoy the articles and we hope you'll join the worldwide community of tapping musicians on the forum.

As a bonus for you to let your friends know about the Tappistry.Org forums, we're offering a 'Referrer Contest'. The more friends you refer, the more 'referring points' you get. And for the guy with the most referring points, we've got a great prize!

The Roland Loop station is one of the simplest methods to open up the wonderful performance world of 'looping' -- playing a phrase (or even a whole song) and then the device plays that background for you while you play melodies, take solos, add harmony or countermelody ... It's a wonderful new world of performance ability, all in a small and simple package.

We'll describe the Loop Station in detail below, but first here's how you can win this contest --

Step 1 ... Register

Register on the Tappistry.Org Forum. Read some posts and visit with other tapping musicians around the world.

Step 2 ... Send a cool post

When you come across a really cool post -- or when you write a cool post -- click the link that sends that page to one of your musician friends. The link is below the posts, and says 'Email this Page":

Step 3 ... Your friend also registers

When they get the email, knowing it's from you, they click on the link and that takes them immediately to your cool post. Singing your name with great praise, they sign up for the Tappistry.Org Forum so they can visit with cool and knowledgeable tapping musicians like you!

Step 4 ... You can be the winner

Here's how you win -- Our system tracks that *you* were the 'Referrer' who referred them. Keep referring your friends to the Tappistry.Org Forums whenever you find a cool post (or whenever you write a cool post), and be the guy who refers the most new folks to Tappistry.Org Forums. That makes you the winner! Firstly, you'll be a winner because you'll have all your friends here -- but even better -- you'll win the Roland Loop Station!

What's so great about Tappistry.Org.Org and its Forum?

First of all, the Tappistry.Org website is the only website in the world dedicated especially for enthusiasts of the 'two-handed tapping' method of playing guitar and bass (or specialty touch-instruments). Completely non-denominational, Tappistry.Org is designed to serve as a resource for expanding the music that we all love.

Secondly, the 'Articles' section gives you a (free) online webzine of special 'how-to' articles, interviews of tapping musicians, and information available nowhere else in the world. Fun, instructional, and useful. And who knows? Maybe *you* would like to be a published writer in this specialty webzine!

Finally, the Tappistry.Org Forum provides a gathering place to follow interesting discussions about the tapping technique, hear where the gigs are, talk about gear, problems, solutions, new ideas, and all the fascinating flow of ideas that musicians create. And check out the world-wide calendar of events. Here you can list your gigs, events, seminars, get-togethers -- all the events of interest to tappers around the world. Plus, the Swapmeet forum is designed to make it easier for individuals to buy and sell the specialized instruments and gear used in a tapping rig. It's convenient, too. You don't have to monitor the forum every minute because you can have it send you email whenever somebody replies to your post. And, the forums are moderated, and that's nice because it keeps the discussions, well, moderate. The Tappistry.Org.Org Forum is designed to be *your* place to hang out.

And now ... Behold the amazing Roland 'Loop Station'

The RC-20 Loop Station™ is the first compact phrase recording and sampling pedal that's actually easy to use. This amazing device is perfect for performers who want to create and play back loops during live performances, as well as musicians looking for a great practice tool.

With a long 5 minutes sampling time, you can play an entire song and then play vocal and instrumental lines over it with the greatest of ease.

We'd call it the world's most powerful phrase recording/sampling pedal.

It gives you a built-in Guide Click, and has Loop Quantize function -- this is the key to quick, easy creation of perfect loops using the two pedals.

The Overdub function allows you to create "sound-on-sound" loops, all on the fly.

It can store up to 10 looped phrases, plus a 'one-shot' (Put in James Brown going 'hunh!'), and these phrases and the one shot are retained even after the power is off.

Provides you with inputs for your instrument, or for a mic, even an auxiliary input to make it easy to sample vocals or pre-recorded audio.

Powerful 'auto start' feature begins sampling automatically when the music begins, or click off your desired tempo on the pedal and begin to record. There is even a 'reverse sample' playback you can engage on the fly. Changing tempos? No problem; a realtime tempo change function is built in!

For more details and full specs, here is a Roland brochure in Acrobat portable document format. You can view these in your browser using the Adobe Acrobat viewer, or you can right-click and save to your desktop for later viewing. (If you need the Adobe Acrobat viewer, you can get it free from Adobe here. Here is the Loop Station brochure in Acrobat format --

Because the Loop Factory is a 'stomp box' pedal, its compact size makes it easy to use at home (great for practicing solos over chord changes!), and it fits in the pocket of most gigbags to bring to the gig. Powerful, compact, simple to use, a great value at its $400 list price. Even better when you win it for free!

The moral of this story?

Get yourself over to register on the forum (it's free), and start looking for some cool posts, or even better, start writing some cool posts! Send those cool posts to your friends, and you could be the winner. Help us get the word out and help yourself win! -- Helpful hint to get you started: Find the cool post about winning the Roland Loop Station, and send *that* one to your friends, just for starters!
