Introduction
Hello! Welcome to Tappistry.Org -- official site for the Tappers Guild, a world-wide non-profit volunteer association of enthusiasts dedicated to the musical technique called 'Two-Handed Tapping'.
Two-Handed Tapping (sometimes called 'touch-style') describes playing a stringed instrument by means of tapping or touching the strings to the frets, using an amplifier to make the notes loud enough to hear. Because strumming or picking is not needed, the musician can play music with both hands simultaneously, much like a piano player. With correct adjustment, almost any bass or guitar can be played with this technique, and numerous specialty instruments are manufactured especially for this purpose.
Tapping Information: The 'Articles' section contains how-to articles and interviews. The 'Resources' section contains links to online resources such as theory, lessons, manufacturers, and bands.
Tapper's Forum: Use of the 'Forum' section is free. To post in the forums, you need only register and log in. This free registration also enables you to post gigs and events on the world-wide calendar.
Policies: The Policies page has information on how your membership and participation will shape the future of this site.
We hope that you will enjoy Tappistry.Org and find it both interesting and useful.
